Fuge

Monday, June 28 thru Saturday, July 3, 2010
University of Mobile, Mobile, AL
$150.00 per person ~ Grades 7-12
Deposit Due Sunday, January 24

Our youth in grades 7-12 will have to make a choice about which camp they attend this summer. The best part is that both camps are the same week at the same location! Youth will choose between a recreation based camp called Centrifuge and a missions based camp called M-Fuge. And while they might do different things during the middle part of the day, our students will still be together during the morning celebration, evening worship, church group devotion, late night, and at meal and free times.

According to Mark Robbins, student event coordinator for LifeWay, “Centrifuge is our longest running camp that focuses on involving students in recreation to teach Biblical truths and team building. M-Fuge is our ministry based camp where students are placed on different ministry teams that leave campus to go serve strategic ministry locations in and around the city, giving students hands on ministry involvement.” In order to participate in M-Fuge students must have prior missions experience (completed by the time of M-Fuge) and Pastor Jason’s permission.

Centrifuge/M-Fuge will take place Monday, June 28 thru Saturday, July 3 at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama. The University of Mobile is a great location for camp. Students will be housed in campus dorms with suite style bathrooms (2 rooms share a private bath). In addition, all worship sessions and meals will take place in the newly completed Ram Hall. Plus there’s a pool, game room, tennis courts and more to enjoy during free time.

Due to the generosity and graciousness of our church this year we are able to drastically reduce the cost for camp! The cost for Centrifuge/M-Fuge is only $150.00 per person! This includes registration, lodging, all meals while at camp, and a t-shirt. It does not cover snacks, meals on the road, or any camp souvenirs (i.e. CDs, other apparel, etc.).

Of course we know that during these tough economic times, even this amount can be a lot. That is why we have Need Based Scholarships available to all students with a demonstrated financial need. However, please pay attention to the following Scholarship Requirements below as they are new this year:

1.     Complete and turn in Scholarship Application to Pastor Jason by Sunday, January 17

2.     80% attendance at Sunday School, xp3, & Wednesday Night- This means 17 out of 21 Sundays and 12 out of 15 Wednesdays. This begins Wednesday, February 3.

3.     For every $15.00 received, you- the student- must work 1 hour at the church (i.e. $150 = 10 hours)

4.     Write anonymous thank –you note that will be given to the scholarship donor

A $50.00 non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit is due Sunday, January 24. I promise you, these camps will leave a mark! Not a grass stain, not a bruise, not a scrape, but a big, huge, awesome spiritual mark!
